The Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding joined a Ukrainian business delegation to South Korea to create a new strategic alliance. On March 24-29, a large-scale working visit of the Ukrainian business delegation to South Korea took place. This was the largest mission in the last three years, which included business forums, strategic meetings, and events between universities for the joint development of education and science. The delegation included representatives of local government, business, universities, and NGOs. Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding was represented by Oleksandr Tur, Head of the Educational-Scientific Center of International Cooperation of NUOS.
One of the key results of the visit was the creation of the Ukrainian Alliance for Reconstruction, which has already been joined by more than 20 Korean companies. The presentation took place at the headquarters of ITOXY with the participation of the Ukrainian delegation. A number of strategic agreements were also signed, including between the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), which opens up new opportunities for businesses in both countries.
The negotiations with Korean universities and research centers are aimed at strengthening academic exchange, developing joint research and training engineering personnel, which are important for the restoration and modernization of the country’s industry, in particular the shipbuilding industry of Ukraine. Memorandums were signed between the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding and several leading Korean higher education institutions, including:
– Gyeongsang National University (Chinju): A large public university founded in 1948, it has numerous programs in various fields, including shipbuilding at the Faculty of Marine Engineering and Technology.
– Ongseo University (Busan): A private university renowned for its focus on practical training in business, technology, and the humanities.
– Sangji University (Wonju): A private university that offers programs in business management, information technology, humanities, and other fields, with an emphasis on leadership development.
Also, the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding was among the 17 signatories to the global memorandum of cooperation between Ukraine and South Korea on economic and industrial cooperation signed in Chinju.
