On May 25-26, Pryazovskyi State Technical University (Mariupol) held the international scientific-practical conference “Digitalization of the Economy as a Factor of Sustainable Development” within the project “Digitalization of the economy as an element of sustainable development of Ukraine and Tajikistan” (DigEco). Vyacheslav Ivata, Oleksiy Pashchenko, Serhii Shevchuk, Ganna Iefimova, Liliya Filipishyna (Pervomaisky branch of NUOS), Mariia Klysiak, Nataliia Hryshyna, Olena Honcharova from Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding (NUOS) took part in the conference. Oleksiy Pashchenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance, made a report on the “Influence of Information Technologies on the Development of International Business” at the plenary session.

Such scientific events allow to consolidate the efforts of the scientific community and practical experience for the development of the digital economy of Ukraine and partner countries, taking into account the experience of Europe.

The plenary session of the conference included not only reports of leading scientists in the field of economics, but also stakeholders – representatives of companies who are interested in the professionalism of future university graduates. Emphasis was placed on the fact that the digitalization of the economy is not just one of the possible ways of its development, but an objective process in global society. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown that the digitalization of the economy is the factor that can save the financial and social system from possible chaos. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out this process as quickly and efficiently as possible, resolving such issues as “white spots” in the legislation, automation of processes, training of highly qualified staff, etc. The DigEco grant project is aimed at these tasks, in which NUOS teachers are involved. Our task is to ensure the graduation of such specialists in the economic field who would be able to work successfully in the new, digitalized reality of economic processes of various scales. Therefore, the conference ” Digitalization of the Economy as a Factor of Sustainable Development ” became an important milestone not only in the work of the international project DigEco, but also in the further fruitful work of NUOS teachers with students and entrants of our university.
