“Student Mentor program”

On May 2, 2024, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding and the NGO “Teach for Ukraine” to support the Student Mentor program funded by the UNICEF.

Events such as COVID-19, quarantine, and war have become serious challenges for the modern educational system. These unforeseen circumstances have led to serious educational losses. Our goal is to expand opportunities for students’ professional self-determination and application of practical skills, and to promote innovative approaches to teaching and educating young people.

By creating mentoring relationships between student-mentors and students, the Student Mentor program provides an opportunity for an individual approach to learning and development. This helps students to learn more effectively and develop key soft skills that are important for successful further education and career. Students will receive assistance in catching up on missed material and developing the necessary skills to help them effectively adapt to new learning environments and prepare for higher education.

The signing of this memorandum has opened new horizons for the development of teacher education in the Southern region!
