On June 12, 2024, an important seminar on cooperation between higher education institutions of Austria and Ukraine took place in Vienna. The event was organized jointly by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research of the Republic of Austria, the National Erasmus+ Agency in Austria, the Austrian Agency for Education and Internationalization (OeAD), as well as the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Erasmus + Office in Ukraine.
The seminar was attended by representatives of 43 Ukrainian and 24 Austrian higher education institutions. Among the participants was Oleksandr Tur, Head of the ESCIC NUOS. The program of the event included plenary sessions and small group work in various areas. Particular attention was paid to the sustainability of universities in wartime and the possibility of attracting additional resources from Austrian partners and the EU. The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine made considerable efforts to ensure the physical presence of all members of the Ukrainian delegation at the event. As a result of two days of fruitful work, the participants managed to establish new contacts and lay the foundation for future joint projects with Austrian universities. It is especially important that these new opportunities for cooperation appear in the context of the merger of VO Sukhomlynskyi National University with NUOS and the creation of the Center for Veteran Development. This opens up additional prospects for expanding international cooperation and exchange of experience in various fields of education and science.
