Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding Joins the Interregional Smart Village Platform
On February 25, 2026, in Seoul, the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding participated online in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to establish the Interregional Smart Village Platform.
This international initiative aims to develop a modern, integrated model for Ukraine’s post-war recovery, combining the principles of sustainable development, ESG approaches, digital transformation, and innovative technologies.
The one-year Proof of Concept phase includes the creation of a pilot Smart Village and the implementation of solutions in the areas of agricultural production, renewable energy, housing infrastructure, healthcare, and AI.
Despite the extremely short preparation period, the following have already joined the Platform:
over 40 institutions and organizations from Ukraine
2 institutions from Moldova
at least 30 institutions from the Republic of Korea are expected
For NUOS, participation in the Platform opens up new opportunities for international cooperation, scientific research, and the integration of Ukrainian solutions into global recovery initiatives.
We believe that partnerships, technology, and a systematic approach can serve as the foundation for the sustainable development of communities and regions in Ukraine
We would like to express our special gratitude to Mr. Lee Yang-Gu, former Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine, who now heads the Korea Ukraine New Building Association and continues to implement energy-efficient and social projects in Ukraine — for his consistent dedication to supporting Ukraine, developing Korean-Ukrainian cooperation, and his personal contribution to advancing this initiative.
