“Innovations & Human Capital for resilience and recovery of Ukrainian infrastructure”

On October 5, 2024, an event was held within the framework of the project “Innovations & Human Capital for resilience and recovery of Ukrainian infrastructure”, organized jointly with the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding and Mykolaiv Water Hub.

At this meeting, young university scientists presented their startups and developments that have the potential for implementation and commercialization.

Among the guests of honor were Maren Lesche, founder of Startup Colors, project manager of U-Space Berlin, and director of Vision Health. Maren has extensive experience in the field of innovation and startups, actively promotes the development of technology enterprises, and acts as an advisor to many young entrepreneurs.

Another influential participant of the event is Michael Hübner, a seasoned entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in the areas of trade, IT infrastructure, e-commerce, marketplaces, branding, construction, and real estate. He actively invests in innovative projects and supports the development of infrastructure and entrepreneurship.

Other speakers included Stefan Schandera, CEO of Gigahertz Ventures GmbH from Dresden, Germany, which makes venture capital investments in technology startups, and Sebastian Schwenke, Managing Director of the Business Angels Club Berlin, which specializes in supporting young entrepreneurs through access to investment and business networks.

Anna Montavon, founder of Mykolaiv Water Hub, has many years of experience in water management and infrastructure resilience, and her initiative aims to support the development of Mykolaiv’s water infrastructure, which has been severely damaged by the war. Mykolaiv Water Hub is working to restore water supply and implement innovative water management solutions, focusing on sustainability and resource efficiency. Hanna also actively cooperates with international partners to attract investment and the latest technologies to rebuild the city and the region.

Eugeniy Trushlyakov, Rector of the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding, emphasized that despite the difficult circumstances, the university remains an important center of scientific research and technological development. He emphasized the importance of implementing innovative solutions in the process of infrastructure restoration, stressing that the university’s scientific developments play an important role in the country’s reconstruction.
