European Day of the Sea in Ukraine

May 30, 2024 marked the European Day of the Sea in Ukraine.

Mykolaiv became the center of a discussion on the future of the maritime economy, bringing together nearly 30 leading experts in shipbuilding, transportation and the blue economy. Participants, including representatives from the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding, came together to identify strategies for rebuilding maritime infrastructure and deepening cooperation with the European Union.

Important steps were the ideas of creating a blue economy ecosystem and the active participation of the Maritime Cluster of Ukraine together with Mykolaiv region scientists in European Green Deal projects. Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych and international partners expressed strong support for the development of the blue economy.

Cooperation with the EU opens up new prospects for technological development and investment growth. Mykolaiv aims to become a center for maritime economic development by strengthening ties with international partners.
