Environmental protection technologies Faculty / Institute: Department: Ecology and environmental technologies The environmental professions in industrialized countries are among the most in demand, as modern production requires skilled environmental support. The specialty 183 "Environmental technologies" is closely related to the specialty 101 "Ecology", but in contrast, it does not refer to the field of knowledge "Production and technology" and is aimed primarily at the analysis of the harmful effects of technogenic environment on environment, identification and evaluation of different types of pollution, development and application of effective technologies of environmental protection, ensuring environmental safety, justification of environmental measures. EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS Environmental protection technologies RESEARCH ACTIVITIES Research work of the Faculty of Environmental and Technogenic Safety is conducted in the following main areas: Development of complex low-waste technologies for protection of hydro-ecosystems from pollution. Complex optimization of water supply schemes of settlements. Systematic research and development of models of program-targeted development of heat supply systems of Ukraine based on the latest technologies and processes of energy transformation. Development of energy and environmentally efficient schemes of municipal heat supply systems during their modernization and reconstruction. Development of eco-safe and energy-efficient processes for thermal utilization of the organic part of solid household waste. Development of ecologically safe ecopyrogenesis technology for utilization of organic waste and low-grade coal with alternative fuels. Development of pyrolysis technology and equipment for processing coal into liquid fuel. Improving the efficiency of combustion processes of hydrocarbon fuels in gas-turbine low-emission combustion chambers using plasma-chemical stabilizers. Development of technologies for the purification of oil-contaminated waters, wastewater of enterprises, technologies for disinfection of infected drains of hospitals. Development of reagents and methods for stabilizing water treatment to ensure the rational use of water in industry and energy. Development of biological methods of purification of municipal and industrial sewage on the basis of application of technology of effective microorganisms. On the basis of the bachelor's degree students can optionally continue their studies in the magistracy, obtaining a master's degree. Qualification - Master in Environmental Technology (environmental engineer, higher education teacher).
