The profession of ecologist in industrialized countries has become one of the most relevant professions, because modern production requires qualified ecological support. Environmental quality management activities are considered prestigious and promising. Therefore, environmental specialists are in high demand in various industries and agriculture, energy, transport, scientific and design organizations, local and central executive authorities, local governments, public organizations. EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS Ecology and environmental protection RESEARCH ACTIVITIES Research work of the Faculty of Environmental and Technogenic Safety conducted in the following main areas: Development of methods and measures to stimulate regional development through the implementation of environmentally safe, resource- and energy-saving management of natural-technical systems and socio-economic processes. Improvement of environmental management through the implementation of environmental management and audit schemes. Comprehensive analysis and methodology for assessing the impact of man-made pollution of enterprises on the natural environment and man; research of technogenically dangerous processes of shipbuilding enterprises, development of systems of ecological management of shipbuilding industries on the basis of a comprehensive approach to nature management. Developing bioeconomic and environmentally-friendly approaches to the development of energy-saving sectors of the economy. Development of new methods of monitoring and analytical control of environmental objects. Assessment of the state of hydro-ecological systems, rationalization of the use of water resources. Investigation of eutrophication of reservoirs, phenomena of mass fatigue of fish. Biodiversity Research, Inventory and Sozoological Assessment of Flora Conservation: Determination of species composition of flora, analysis of biotopic distribution of species, identification of rare species and their habitats in protected areas. Development of medical-ecological phytodesign of production and training facilities. Applied aspects of environmental / biological ethics, research tools for broadcasting a culture of safe activity.
