As part of the Erasmus+ academic mobility program, students at Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding have the opportunity to spend a semester at one of Europe’s best universities, Aalborg University (AAU, Denmark).
This is a great opportunity to study in an international environment, gain practical skills, develop teamwork, and experience the atmosphere of real campus life in Denmark.
🔹 The program is open to students of technical bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. Please note that there are restrictions on participation in master’s programs for men aged 18 to 60.
🔹 All participants receive financial support to cover basic expenses such as accommodation, meals, flights, and paperwork.
Impressions of program participants ✨
This time, Andris Rusulis, a student who studied at Aalborg University as part of an exchange program, shares his experience:
“The experience of studying under the exchange program is undoubtedly a wonderful opportunity for me to gain knowledge and get acquainted with a different education system, as well as make new friends and meet old ones within the framework of the grant program in 2023. Aalborg University offers students technical education and is based on the use of the PBL (Problem Based Learning) system, which enables students to find their own solutions based on previously acquired knowledge. PBL helps to analyze information in detail and find a common team solution. An integral part of the program is a semester project, the topic of which is assigned to groups of students at the beginning of the semester. These projects can be completely different, but they are related to the courses being studied.
In addition to teaching, the university organizes various events for students. There is also a special program — the Buddy Program for international students, which helps them adapt, get acquainted with the culture, and develop socially. The first weeks of my stay were filled with various events to get acquainted with the university and Danish traditions. Studying at this university is a great opportunity to gain new knowledge and experience, as well as to test yourself in teamwork and challenge yourself to create your own unique project together with a team. I am sincerely grateful to the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding for this opportunity!
